Nature Play @ Royal Park

On the weekend the kiddies & I took a train trip into the city to visit the new million dollar nature play themed park located directly next to The new Royal Children’s Hospital.

And boy was it amazing!

There were five themed play spaces which were based on nature, each with their own different features. The first space we explored had a ginormous climbing frame made out of tree logs & ropes:

A lovely big sandpit which my daughter spent nearly an hour playing in:

It also has some rope activities, climbing frames & a bridge 😊

The next play space we entered featured swings, slides and a very large rope course…in areas nearly two metres off the ground! Thank goodness you are right next to the hospital!

The part the kiddies were really hanging out for was the water play area! It has water pumps, fountains, a mud pool etc I personally think it is generated towards toddlers but my two aged 7 & 5 had a great time:

There is a massive grass hill that the kids can climb and roll down to their hearts content and it’s super special when the ambulance helicopter flies over 😊

I highly recommend this park for a visit on a lovely Melbourne day. It’s easily accessible by car (free parking down the side streets) or by public transport (the number 59 team from Elizabeth street). Take lots of sunscreen (there is little to no shaded areas), bathers, towels and water bottles ( we only found one water fountain). There are bbq facilities but no toilets, the closest ones are in the hospital.

Happy Exploring!
